Title: Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre
Location: Kakadu National Park
(Approval for inclusion of this material in this Website from Chris Haynes,
Director, Kakadu National Park, October 2003)
Exhibition 3D Concept Design: Rosemary Simons
(Practising as Simons Lancashire Design)
Floor Pattern Design: David Lancashire

Design Notes: “Following the theme, ‘Its not scenery, its home,’ the exhibition aims to present Kakadu as a domestic landscape from pre-contact times to present day..... There can be few places on earth which have been home to the same people for so long. In this exceptional place, the past and present intermingle. As Oodjeroo Noonuncal states in her poem, ‘The Greening Years’:– "the past is all around us, haunted by tribal memories”. Written on the landscape and spoken through the voices of people is the complex story of Aboriginal Culture. Collected together in this exhibition, are some of these ‘writings’ and some of these voices.’ (R. Simons – Concept Notes).
